Business of the Week: March 22, 2019 – John Breunig

Business of the Week:  Jordan Deputy Registrar – John Breunig

Everyone says they have the best employees but everyone else might just be wrong.  Since 1978 we have had the one of the best employees you could ask for.  You will have a hard time arguing with us that we don’t just have the best.

John Breunig is retiring and today is his last day.  He has been the fabric of our customer service at our DMV for so many years and we have all been very spoiled.  John’s infectious attitude of helping other has molded our staff to try to do the same.  He helps and cares for people which makes the rest of our staff want to help each other and care for one another.  Our Deputy Registrar office is known throughout the area to have some of the best customer service in a very challenging customer service business.  John is one of the main reasons for this. He has taught every staff member at the City the meaning of helping people with a smile, sometimes a joke and enjoying your job.   John is truly one of the nicest people you will meet and he makes our community that much better by him doing his thing.  At his job, around town and just the way he lives his life, he makes our community better.

So many people come in our office each day and ask for John already.  Its always, “Is John here?”  We have bets that might happen for many years after he retires.  Each time it does happen from now on, we will have a tear in the corner of our eyes but still get a fond memory of working with our friend & co-worker, John Breunig.  Not that you are gone from our lives, just our work lives.  You will need to come visit us.  Maybe at 5:00pm every day for Jeopardy.

Our community is going to miss John as our Deputy Registrar.  We as a city are going to miss him very much every day.  If you see him around town wish him well in his retirement.  He deserves all the best for the job he has done for us all for so many years.  We hope you have a long and happy retirement.  You earned big guy.  Thank you, John!

“Well done, good and faithful servant!” – Matthew 25:23

Now some about the Jordan Deputy Registrar Office at City Hall.  We are sure John doesn’t want this all be about him:  Here are our hours and what services we can provide for you.  Please buy your tabs & licenses from us and a part of the fees does stay with the City.  This helps us and potentially could help keep your taxes down.  Plus we are convenient and provide extremely friendly services.

Business of the Week: Laney Bird

My name is Lisa King and I am the owner of Laney Bird. I’ve always been a creative person and started Laney Bird with my sewn “BoBo” bears and jewelry line. I’ve been to many craft shows but have always dreamed of having a brick and mortar store to call my own. This last year I started hunting for vintage finds and refinishing old furniture. My husband was getting overwhelmed with all of my business ventures and kicked me out of the basement and into my very own storefront! There’s a special team behind the Laney Bird name now. Laney Bird is named after my daughter, Lauren, who has been crafting with me since she was little. My husband is a custom home builder and I couldn’t do this without his helping hand and emotional support. My step daughter, Emily, owns Sugar Belle Candles and has partnered up with Laney Bird in this venture. Last but not least, you may find a painting or two created by our littlest entrepreneurs in a special section dedicated to the kiddos! You may also see their smiling faces helping us with our crafting events and birthday parts, which we hope to add soon! We are all super excited about being a part of the Jordan community and look forward to meeting all of you!

Located at 200A Broadway St S, Jordan, Minnesota
