Public Comment Opportunity Regarding Body Camera Policy for JPD

The Jordan Police Department is taking public comment by email and mail to Chief Empey regarding our department’s Portable Recording Systems / Body Camera Policy (JPD Policy 421) and allowing for direct public comment during the public comment section of the Dec. 5, 2016 regular City Council meeting should citizens desire. Public Transportation

Scott County residents have several public transportation options to choose from, and there are a number of Park & Rides throughout the County to help get you on your way.

SmartLink Transit

For residents in Scott and Carver Counties, SmartLink is your premier mobility management service, including Dial-A-Ride. Smart Link can get you anywhere in the seven county metro area (in some cases, you may need to transfer to another transportation provider).

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is the public transportation agency for seven suburbs located approximately 15 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul: Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, and Rosemount in Dakota County; and Savage, Shakopee, and Prior Lake in Scott County. MVTA also provides the Scott County-to-downtown Minneapolis express bus service, originally known as BlueXpress.

Land to Air Express

Land to Air provides shuttle service from the Marschall Road Transit Station (Shakopee) to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul International Airport. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride — no parking issues, no fighting traffic, and no trouble with the weather!

Scott County and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) are working together to help with Mental Illness. NAMI is a regional grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of children’s and adults with mental illnesses and their families.

Jordan Comprehensive Plan Survey

Small business Revolution Main Street Grant

The City of Jordan is applying for the Deluxe Small Business Revolution Grant.

The winning town will receive a $500,000 Main Street makeover, including:

  • Deluxe marketing services for small businesses in the community
  • Strategic support and guidance from celebrity entrepreneur Robert Herjavec
  • Revitalized public spaces, store fronts and more, designed to protect and reinvigorate the sense of community
  • Starring role in online video series, and the chance to tell the world what your town has to offer to residents and visitors alike
