Progress in Jordan – Brentwood Terrace

The Scott County Community Development Agency (CDA) recently received its approvals to construct 59-units of senior housing in the City of Jordan. This project, called Brentwood Terrace, is the second phase of senior apartments funded by the Scott County CDA.

Brentwood Terrace represents a significant investment in the City of Jordan and an opportunity for older Jordan residents to continue to live in the community even as they age out of their single-family homes. The 59-unit project is made up of Studio, 1 and 2-bedroom units along with amenities including a salon, club room, and fitness and community rooms.

The project is not just a win for the City’s older residents, however. Housing stock currently occupied by older residents can be a perfect example of what is known as “naturally occurring affordable housing” (NOAH). As older residents age out of their homes, those homes become available to younger residents. They’re often more affordable for homebuyers than a newly constructed home.

A public groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for November 18th at 4pm. Completion of Brentwood Phase 2 is expected sometime in early 2021.
