Before submitting a building permit application, please ensure the property is located within the City of Jordan limits. Sand Creek and St. Lawrence Township residents (who may have a Jordan mailing address) will need to apply for permits through Scott County.

Building Permits
Building Permit Applications are required for ALL improvements listed below
Property improvements requiring building permits are listed in alphabetical order, below. Supplemental information is available for select improvements and can be accessed by clicking on the links provided. Common residential building permit fees can be found, here.

Building permit applications can be submitted at City Hall or emailed to planning@jordanmn.gov. Please consult the City’s Fee Schedule for permit costs, and note that there will be a State surcharge in addition to the City fee. Cash or check payable to the City of Jordan is required upon permit issuance (Please write the address in the check memo). Call 952-492-2535 with any questions. Inspections are scheduled through Metro West Inspections at 763-479-1720.

Before completing work contact Gopher State One Call (GSOC) before starting any excavation project. Whether the project is large or small, if you are using machine-powered equipment or just a shovel and rake to plant a garden, get your work area marked.
