• A programmable thermostat can regulate your home’s temperature when you are at home.
• Unplug electronics when not in use to avoid “phantom” electricity usage.

• Household hazardous waste should be disposed of properly. The Scott County HHW Center is open to Jordan residents.

• It is illegal to dispose of certain electronics (such as televisions and computers) in the landfill in Minnesota. Recycle your unwanted electronics at the Scott County HHW Center or other local recycling locations.

• Use low-flow water fixtures to reduce your household’s water consumption.
• Lawns need only 1-1.5″ of water each week and in general, it’s best to water deeply and less frequently. According to City Code, watering lawns is prohibited from 10am-6pm following odd/even days.

• Do not dump anything in street drains and keep them clear from debris such as leaves, grass or trash.
• Scoop the poop. Pick up after your dog to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria to surface waters.
• Limit the amount of salt used in the winter and sweep up any extra salt. Rock salt can only melt ice if the pavement is above 15 degrees.
