Community Service:

As part of our Community Impact Commitment, the Jordan staff volunteered to help school district clean and reorganize storage facilities for our sports teams. We filled up a huge dumpster with things that were no longer needed, built new storage shelves, made racks for the youth football team to hang equipment, removed everything in the storage units and placed everything back in an organized fashion. #buildingcommunitiesmn

Thank you, HomeTown Bank of Jordan!

Business of the Week:  Jordan Public Schools

This is the first week of school in Jordan.  We would like to thank all the teachers, administrators, para’s, office staff, custodians, principals, community volunteers, coaches, bus drivers, school board, Community Ed. Staff and anyone else that is dedicated to making our schools fantastic.  Our children are trusted in your very capable hands for 9 months of the year or more.  We truly have some of the best people and facilities anywhere in the state.  You aren’t a business but we want to honor you for what you do to make our community great!  We wish you all a safe and successful school year.

Thank you, Jordan Public Schools!

About our Schools:

The mission of the Jordan Public Schools is to Inspire a Caring Community to Ignite Learning, Innovation, and Success for All. We are located on Highway 169, just nine miles south of Shakopee and 30 minutes south of Minneapolis/St. Paul, in the beautiful Minnesota River Valley. The population of Jordan is approximately 6,500. Our unique student and family friendly single academic campus has excellent facilities and is located near many residential areas, including the historic downtown and a new public library. Our high school was built in 2003 and our award winning middle school was opened in 2015. Located adjacent to this building is the new 45,000 square foot Jordan Community Education and Recreation Center (CERC). Our elementary school, recipient of multiple Minnesota Department of Eduction distinctions, was built in 1978 and has a 2003 addition to include an early learning center. We are proud to be the only Parent Aware Four Star rated preschool program in Jordan.

Jordan students consistently score academically at the top of the Minnesota River Conference and our athletic and fine arts programs rival and exceed what can be found in much larger districts. This has allowed for Jordan students to stand out amongst the best in the state.

Educating 21st Century learners is important to us. We have a successful 1:1 technology program with students in grades 5–12 receiving Chromebook devices. In addition, our younger students explore technology on a daily basis with laptops and iPads for their use in the classroom and throughout the building.

In addition, a generous gift from the Ames Family has brought the district a Field Turf Field and completely updated Athletic Complex. This new space, along with several new ball fields, and ample green space are home to our thriving athletic programs. Our athletic facilities are among some of the best for districts our size and rank high among what can be found in the state.

The Jordan Public Schools serves approximately 1,800 students, grades preK–12, at three locations on our single academic campus.
