What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A comprehensive plan (or “Comp Plan”) sets the vision for what the City wants to be in the future and lays out actions to get there. The plan is comprised of several elements, including:
- Land use
- Parks, trails and open space
- Surface water
- Water supply
- Sanitary sewer
Although the plan looks 20 years into the future, state law requires that cities update their comprehensive plans every ten years.
