Business of the Week: Kelly Educational Staffing

Jordan Public Schools has partnered with Kelly Educational Staffing (KES) to hire substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to provide quality education in the absence of our full time educators. If you have a bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) and want to serve the community through helping to educate our children, Kelly Educational Staffing will help you get what’s called a “Short Call Substitute License.” Obtaining this license through the Minnesota Department of Education will enable you to substitute teach in Jordan!

KES will even train you in classroom management, lesson planning and teaching strategies so you feel prepared to start teaching right away! KES will offer trainings in Jordan as well as Burnsville. If you have any interest at all in supporting the schools as a substitute teacher or paraprofessional, you should contact Kelly Educational Staffing as soon as possible to learn more.

Minimum Requirements to work as a paraprofessional substitute:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Available for same day assignments
  • Minimum of 2 days per week availability
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Should possess good judgment and demonstrate ethical behavior
  • Additional Minimum Requirement to work as a Substitute Teacher:
  • Must hold a valid Minnesota Teaching License or have a Bachelor’s Degree (KES will help you get your license!)

Park and Recreation Commission to Review Splash Pad Designs Monday, February 12

The Jordan Park and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) will be reviewing two (2) splash pad designs for Lagoon Park, Monday, February 12th at 6:30pm at the City Council Chambers.  The commission will accept public input on the designs prior to and during the meeting. The designs can be viewed in the PRAC agenda by clicking here. If you’re unable to attend but would like your input to be considered, or if you have questions about the designs, contact City Planner, Lucinda Meyers, at lmeyers@jordanmn.gov.  The City Council will consider the PRAC’s recommendation and public input received when they make a final vote on the design.
